Weird Interview rejection reasons
Placement season has nearly ended and many people got their jobs (obviously). One thing which everyone will remember is the unusual reasons company HR’s give when they want to reject someone. I have seen and heard many people being rejected in front of me, only to give a thought what the company recruiters really require actually.

We wanted people who have hands on experience on real working technology and who can take up challenges. When you people get holidays, do some projects/internship after each semester break right after first year.
Means after each break, we wont go home instead get ourselves tortured in a corporation? Would any first year student get an internship? Would any company offer him? If you are so excited, why wont you provide to some students here?

You are not upto the mark!
How is you mark rated? Upside down? Worser the performance, higher you get up on their scale?

You were giving too much smile and showing formality. This is not a professional approach.
Next time when I enter your chamber for an interview, will greet you as “Good Afternoon a**hole“

Ha ha….Great post dear friend,
Cisco esp. gave worthless comments, they won’t even let you touch there hardware even if you do your internship there.
Yahoo, testing job and expectations are like anything! If they told “Manish Sinha” that you are not up to mark then I don’t think they should recruit Engineers.
MS, I was so informal in there interview, was it also not a Professional approach?
LOL !!!
Ok on a serious note they had come for formality just choose some suckers(randomly anybody) from MIT
Seriously man, i never thought that ppl can be tht dumb. This the first time tht i hv come across the real picture. Never thought tht recruiters can depress u tht bad. gotta gt geared up for this in the next 2 years.
Well, I dont know about Aman (never ever met or talked to him), but the other gal deserved it. I not trying to be a fan, but I know her.
I can say that atleast one of the two is deserving, but the way they made selections and rejected Ashwin was highly astonishing.
Well, as of me, they let me know that I had an interview with them before, and they were expecting more from me, and I should have done better. They also added they were keen on me, and finally I was shown the door. LOL. And yes, They were some dynamic programming questions, and some NP hard problems that were discussed, something I wasnt expecting in an M$ interview.
yeah about that internship.. do they think that companies just dole out internships or what??
NeYawn,
How they came to know that you faced an M$ interview before? They are never keen on anybody as far as I felt.
You cant be sure what this company expects or what they can ask. I was asked Memory Management and Deadlock question since they thought their flagship product is OS. I should have answered-
“Even though you ask so many questions on Memory Management and Deadlocks, the quality of implementation of these concepts in your OS is badly f**ked up”!
Firstly manish thanx for the congratulations. I don’t know whether i deserved it or not, but yes i was able to answer what they asked me. What i did not get is why they did not select 2 ppl one Ashwin and second Ne Yawn aka Ayush.. both were deserving… This years placement scene has not been very transparent ( dunno abt the previous yrs) hope they make the system better…. I ain’t complaining though.. i got MS!
That’s what am saying. Since I havnt met you before neither talked to you, saying anything is not justified. I prefer to keep my mouth shut in such a scenario.
BTW I know the other gal selected(she is in my class). So I say she deserved.
They selected less people than what I expected, that too when last year recruits did a wonderful performance. They should have taken 4 students IMHO.
Placements in MIT has not been good this year, I somehow got a job, but many are still unplaced.
Yeah! You got MS with Highest pay pack
in MIT placements this year. Enjoy! That’s every CS/IT student’s dream. Congrats!
