Inspired by the way Sindhu writes her movie review, here goes mine

Wasted an evening with friends watching this piece of crap. Wanted a change after Distributed Systems Exams. The review?

CRAP!

USELESS!

WASTE OF MONEY!

MERCHANT OF FRUSTRATION!

SUBHASH GHAI GONE NUTS!

SALMAN KHAN OVERACTED!

ZAYED KHAN DOESN’T KNOW ACTING!

KATRINA KAIF IS JUST SWEET, NOTHING ELSE FOR HER HERE!

WAS THERE ANY STORYLINE?

Though some people did like it.

Amisha joins the league

Monday, June 23rd, 2008

Now its Amisha’s turn! It looks that Yash Raj too thinks that making a movie hit is by item songs not by quality. After Kareena sizzling appearance in Tashan, which was a big heap of crap, now Amisha took the bold step. Yash Raj always failed to make a good movie whenever they tried making stupid moves.

Now have a look at the latest movie: Thoda pyar thoda magic in which Rani Mukherjee figures as an angel for rescuing four orphans! Its clearly a kid’s movie. Now what the hell is that item no of Amisha Patel in bikini got to do in such a movie intended to be watched by kids to a large extent? Lazy Lamhe? Its surely Crazy!!!

Do they think people are fools? I cant forget one movie last year which was from the same banner, no hotness,no masala and it still has a place in my mind! Its “Chak De India!”. It was really a wonderful movie. Barring Dhoom, which had skin how, all movies of Yash Raj fall flat on box office these days. Remember “Jhoom Barabar Jhoom”? Even Rang De Basanti, one of the best movies (not from Yash camp) does not have much of those hot scenes which are meant just for pulling the public to the theaters. Those directors who know that they are serving quality movies should not care much about these crappy ideas. I remember one famous quotation in my childhood.

Pake hue ghade pe mitti nahin chadhti

You must be asking what it means? It means that you cant put clay on a baked pot. I hope this clearly sends out a true message.

Happy New Year to all

Tuesday, January 1st, 2008

Any new year resolution? People do make some or the other, but what about me? I dont think making a resolution may lead to some magic or a sharp change in my luck and affairs. I have a very poor record of keeping up promises which were taken by lightly with a few exceptions.

Having spent two weeks here at home, I didnt even find time for meeting friends. Thanks to different time schedules in different universities. Tomorrow I may go to meet one of my friend who lives closeby and trying to meet 2-3 more before I leave. Today have to go to my grandparents, take blessings and sit back on this fascinating world of internet :D

Only 10 days are left here at home, havnt watched much movies as I wanted to spend more of my time with my family. Last few days were very exciting in relation to my technical side, will put up the updates soon (maybe tomorrow).

Till Then a warm Happy New Year to all my friends, relatives and country men…

Exams drawing to a close

So finally a big headache is over. Am very much relaxed after giving this Operating System paper which was my most hated paper theoretically and most loved paper practically. Who will say that the person who keeps promoting Linux himself gets so less marks in this paper and has least internals of all papers. Just one more paper left -”Computer Networks” on Tuesday. Leaving home on 13th (Thursday)

Yesterday even paper I didnt get rest, left for railway concession, a whooping 5 to 9:30PM shift was something I never expected. Finally came to room, got a movie and watched it till 4AM. I was really tired, still ;)

On the sports end, Yuvraj and Ganguly played the test match like they were in a 20-20 match. Even Pathan reached a century and no more comments on Dada! He achieved in making his debut double century. :-) The return of the Dada!

Who saved me today?

So here starts my end semester exams! One paper over called “Theory of Computation” which is more famously known as “Automata”. Things didnt go “bad to worse” as usual as nothing came from the portion of syllabus which I left. Summing up the paper was good and I expect to get decent score. Hope to perform well this semester.

I just completed my experiments on my Linux box after hopelessly trying to run simple flash animations. :o I understand this is a very simple thing, the problem was lying behind a broken gnash plugin for flash (I prefer free softwares on my free Ubuntu).

Now reporting from LUG-Manipal. Things are going on quite well, Anomit wrote a post “Installing WAMP on your Windows“. This was very important since most of the newcomers in this field dont know how to run Wordpress, MediaWiki, phpBB and other softwares. I understand this is a bit spoon feeding but this story wont continute long.

Well just got up from a movie, it was excellent! Three hours of complete utilization. Cherished every moment of it. Oh! I forgot to name the movie. Its an old one “The Great Escape”.

Chak De Phatte!!!

Monday, August 27th, 2007

Hundreds of movies are produced at Bollywood every year but how many make their way to the audience minds? Hardly any of them except a few. After Rang De Basanti, Chak De India was the right movie which clearly made its way to my heart. Truly a patriotic movie! How many of us really like such themes? We usually frown on hearing that the movie is based of patriotism. But Chak De India was the right movie at the right time! Released somewhere around Independence Day, the movie got a lot of audience right from its first day.

The movie even showcases the plight of our sports and especially the women’s side. Sports is truly neglected in our country. More than 110 million people and we cant even win a gold medal at Olympics? Not only politicians are to be blamed, but its also we who should take up the responsibility. How many of us are encouraged to go to sports and athletics? We do live in such a society, we are asked to pay more attention to academics rather than these sports, surely sports has not takers in India. Its a misery, only Cricket is the unofficial national game and hockey which is the national game is sinking day by day, thanks to Government interference.

Apart from Patriotism theme I would also like to mention one more theme, movies based on values. Remember Munnabhai MBBS and Lago Raho Munnabhai. These two are the other two cherished movie of all time. Its really evergreen! Who thought that Gandhiji’s values would become so famous this day when the whole world is running after MONEY! People really liked the movie and gave Thumbs Up!

Come on Bollywood!! Is it the end? Audience are waiting desperately…

Chak De Phatte!!!
