Looks like there’s no end to birthday parties at discs. This semester is completely loaded with parties. Still many left to come.

Yesterday was the birthday party of one of my friends- Swaroop Hegde . Better read it shortly as Swap so that you dont blast out the “roo” out of his name. As usual the dance floor at Blue Waters was set on fire with the enthusiam of our section’s guys and gals. Not much to say, he invited the whole class. Had unparalleled fun at that place.

So finally got the mail from Merittrac this evening. I am happy to be shortlisted for the Interview which will decide my fate on the Internships at such a big company. Quoting from the confirmation mail (slightly trimmed)

Congratulations. We are pleased to inform you that you have cleared our All India Selection Test for INTERNS held on 17th Feb 08. We will inform you shortly about the Interview Schedules. We will give you enough time to ensure that you could plan your travel to the nearest center for the Interviews.

I just hope to have the interview at Bangalore, though I dont have any problems with Hyderabad too. I just hope that interview and sessionals wont clash, though in worst case, it will be the sessionals which will be sacrificed. More updates soon. Lots more to come. :)

Just returned today from Bangalore in the morning after a day long hectic trip. I had applied for the Internship at Microsoft for the year 2008 back on 5th of this month. The exam center was Sir M Visvesvaraya Institute of Technology, Yalahanka, Bangalore. This place is located outside the town, but luckily the exam was on Sunday. We didnt get caught up in any traffic chaos and all those problems general to Bangalore.

Reached the center at 8 in the morning, hopefully we were one of the earliest people to arrive at the campus. The regitsrations started at 9, PPT started at 9:20AM. They informed us about the general topics, exams pattern, exam schedule and their future prospects.

We were led to the exam rooms, after waiting for one and a half hour our exams started. The exam was total of 90 minutes with five sections- Aptitude, DS and Algo, C++,OS and RDBMS. The exams went fine, hoping for the best. The host college had arranged buses which were meant to ply over the main Bangalore bus stand. We visited some of the malls including “Forum” and caught our bus at 7PM itself. Reached Manipal at 7AM in the morning.

From the other side, I made an attempt at Zend PHP Framework for developing powerful PHP applications. Am not very much sure how much I may proceed but am hopeful that I may learn the needeful. More to come up, keep a close watch :)

Is there something so special on this day? Does on need a special day to show off his/her love? Are other 364 days of the year not suited for the same? These questions can be answered only by those love birds, not by people like me and other singles! Those who do have some valentine miss no chance to prove their might on this auspicious event.

So how I passed this day? Just like any other day! Why? Quite simple, I dont have a girlfriend. :D Proud to be Single!!!

I had some unavoidable experiences while going out for work today at campus. Not my fault, if you are out of room on this day, you cant walk with your eyes closed. And I dont believe in that preaching of Gandhiji “Bura mat Dekho”!

Update on 18th March(This section is edited) : Well, said a lot, leaving for Bangalore on Saturday afternoon for Microsoft Internship Exams. Expect something from this exam, am an optimistic person but dont fly too high.

Blue Waters

So finally my dreams were fulfilled. I had long hoped for a chance to be at Blue Waters which came true this Monday on the occasion of my friend’s Bday Party! Amit- My First Year friend, had given me an invitation two weeks back itself so that I dont get engaged in some other work on this auspicious day! The dance floor was rocking, so was the company. I didnt have a booze but fooled everyone saying that I took two! :D

I didnt expect gals to turn up at this event when the place is so secluded! But since gals were in large number ( some 8-9 I guess ) , they didnt came to show up their face. A pleasent surprise, I didnt get chance to say a Hi or Hello, still the party rocked :P At the end, all the drinkers has gone to a different world and it was our duty to bring them to safe haven.

Am still uploading the complete photo set.  Here are the Pics

As usual am late in blogging about any event. On Saturday we ended our two day workshop on “Using Linux”. The turnout was not as much as we expected, still the event was satisfactory. We need to change our way of thinking for the future events, the way of organizing events as in present scenario pulling the people to the event is a tough job.

On the second day we invited our sponsor Swaroop Hegde from Racked Hosting to introduce him to our LUG members. He gave a nice and appropriate speech on his experiences on activities in this college. RH has some more plans in his mind to boost the turnout and activities of the group. Check out the Press Release on their site relating to the sponsorship.

Secondly India won the fourth match of the Commonwealth Bank series. Ishaan Sharma is at his height of glory. He is being dubbed as the next big thing in the world of bowling. Hope India continue their victory in the upcoming matches.

Thirdly, today am invited to Blue Water on the occasion of my friend’s bday. The environment will be quite joyful, lots of dance and booze. Hope am not forced!  You smell something burning?
