So here finishes my third sessionals. Am back after a long break. This was very crucial to me, except that I left one, badly spoilt two and rest two god knows. :(

From the cricket end, India v/s Pakistan test match is going on. I was hardly interested in such slow and dull games. I admit that test matches are a place for players to show their talent, but its damn boring for the viewers. Presently Pakistan is leading by some 150 runs. India needs a good comeback and I do hope so.

Since exams have finished ( the bigger one is still to come), I may rest completely tomorrow and start getting photocopies and knowing the syllabus correctly. These two are the most important things to do before exams rather than studying. :P

And lastly, finally I received a gift for my bday. That too after 3 months!!! What I got? A sweet, cute wallet and a photo stand. Wallet was the thing which I wanted urgently, and for that Photo Stand, shall I put the pic of my sweetheart or myself? And a final question- “Who Gifted it to Me?”. Well the answer is simply straightforward because we guys always act like misers… ;)

Here is a sequel of the passport drama, after running here and there for filling up the passport form correctly, getting documents, getting them attested, police verification and identity verification, here comes my passport finally.

Yes! It arrived on this Wednesday in high time when I was preparing for my System Programming Lab end semester exams. Excitement followed the event, now I have a proof of residence and last but not the least- “My citizenship proof“.

Moving on the the cricket arena, Sachin again missed his century with just a few runs. Damn! What a bad luck! Though India won the match and the series, the continuous failure mistakes of Sachin has left his fans wondering what’s going on with him.

And finally wrapping up, third sessionals starts next week from Thursday. Really need to start studying, giving only four papers this time, though the load may be less, still I cant take chances.

Guess how many people use Linux? Hardly a handful of them! Since I am a fan of Linux its my moral duty to accustom people with Linux and clear their doubts/myths and misconceptions. I have already installed it on numerous of my friend’s computers and still waiting for more. :)

Keeping up with the pace, last week on Saturday we 3 people- me,Shubhendra and Ayush organised the first meet of the Linux Users Group, Manipal which is a newly founded user group  for promoting Linux in Manipal. The response was awesome, some 80+ people turned out for the event/meet. The interaction with the juniors was also satisfying. It was really saddening to see the poor response in the third year itself. Third year students damn care about anything?

Before leaving we all asked them whether they want themselves to involve in some sort of group work. I had expected that some 10-15 students will stay back after the event. It was surprising to see around 35+ entries in the group work. More had called and asked themselves to be enrolled themselves as they were not able to turn up for the event due to some or the other reasons.

We have chalked out lots of plans. We intend to have a website for guiding newbies, we shall have an online magazine which is released once a month. We will have people for data collection so that they learn what they have to use.

And lastly we have more plans for next semester as this would be the first and last  event of the use group in this semester. Next semester on first saturday we hope to organize an install fest for students who want to install Linux on their systems. I have already given Live CD’s of Ubuntu Gutsy to some students and assigned some first and second year students with the work of distributing the CD ISO’s to those who want to try out this hot thing.

Since space and time is limited, I should conclude now without even mentioning hundreds of points which are still in my mind. Keep checking back soon, and you would be updated.

As usual I am late in blogging, well this birthday party was at Purple Ace of one of my close friend Ankur aka Rock. His Bday was on 10th September but as usual he gave the party as i did along with 3 other people. The party was awesome, people rocked the dance floor especially we section-B guys except the gals who were missing.

Moving on the the cricket end. After winning the first match by 5 wickets, they set to face the Pakis again tomorrow, may god help them.

And finally but not the least, updates from the adacdemics side. Today was the lab sessional of networks lab. We people got pretty easy question. Completed it in quarter past a hour and left the lab first. Sometimes I do have an achievement. ;)

Its quite late at night right now (1:17 AM). How terrible would be feel to have classes right from 8AM in the morning after enjoying two days of full-days off ! On Wednesday there was only one class from 8-9AM, which i left and from 9AM was the brain-storming lab sessional of first half of B2. At that time we-”so called lucky guys” were enjoying our sleep.

Today was Karnataka Rajyotsav Day. Its a local festival and an official holiday. Thanks God! We had our classes from 8AM to 5PM today. Just saved.

Tragedy starts tomorrow. We have 4 classes from 8AM and assignments in all 4 classes. What a misery !! Enjoyed 2 days off and a queue of assignments pending. Well life goes on.

I am desperately waiting for the cricket match between India and Pakistan to start on 5th of this month at Guwahati.  Younis has been made vice-captain and they came without Asif. I will miss the first innings as the match is scheduled to start at 9AM.
